Fall from Horse (Gator 9) – June 7, 2012

Buzzard Mountain – Rapidan, Virginia — Company 9 asisted the career staff from Medic 12 today with Gator 9. At 10:13 hours Gator 9 was requested to assist with moving a 54 YOM from the peak of the mountain. The victim had fallen off a horse and had a suspected hip injury. After arrriving, our unit made its way up the mountain through a heavily wooded area and met the career staff who had used a makeshift sled and small 4 wheeler to bring the victim from the summit to the Gator. Once loaded and secured the Medics and the victim were transported to the base of the mountain and loaded into the 4×4 ambulance.
