Ambulance and Rescue 9 responded to an “entrapment” call off of Jeffersonton Rd. An elderly gentlemen was mowing the tree and poison ivy laced ravine when his mower turned over and rolled across his legs. Arriving crews found him on a very steep embankment holding onto a rope tied to a tree (provided by a neighbor). Using a stokes basket and some rope; our four responders pulled him up and out of the ravine. He was given a secondary assessment and found to be OK. Responders rigged the lawnmower and pulled it back over, restarted it and returned it to the owner who was being lectured by his wife as we left the scene. During the “rescue” she assured our Chief that he would not be mowing in that area again!!
