Horse Rescue – August 8, 2013

At 04:14 Hours Little Fork’s Technical Large Animal Rescue Team was dispatched for a horse that was “cast”. The 31 year old was also stuck between the door and wall of the stable. Upon arrival and a brief size up we requested the Warrenton VFC to respond with manpower, the Fauquier Animal Control and our team Vet; Tena Boyd Corbin. After the vet’s arrival the horse was sedated and we initiated our extrication plan. We were working in tight quarters but managed to move the animal into the middle of the stall. Large Animal Rescue – October 31, 2012

Little Fork’s Large Animal Rescue Team was dispatched to assist Fauquier County units on Fenton Farm Road. A cow had strayed into a pool and fell through the cover. Warrenton VFC units began pumping the water out while our team planned the rescue with the owners vet. Once the water level was lowered we tried to coerce the bovine to try the steps and then our ramp… to no avail. We then utilized our new Becker Sling and utilized a tractor to lift the animal out.
